So, it’s time to buy your festival-tickets for the summer of 2012! Some of the biggest festivals are already sold out, so hurry up! But then…. How to choose among all the cool festivals in Europe?
Roskilde Festival, Denmark: is the biggest music festival in the Nothern Europe with 75,000 participants (plus 30,000 volunteers and 20,000 one-day tickets!),8 stages and 9 days of camping - and it’s non-profit! You won’t find the regular pop music here, as rock, indie and electro is the main focus. This year, some of the official band names are Björk, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure and The Roots.
Some special features are the yearly Naked Run (and the winners get free tickets for next year’s festival), the election of Camp of the Year and the Orange Feeling that refers to the big Orange Scene.

Sziget Festival, Hungary: just won the prize of being Best Major European Festival in 2011! That’s really cool! The festival attracted an amazing 350,000 visitors in 2011. If you are tired of concerts, you can play football, try indoor rowing or go to the cinema (which you can do at Roskilde too) or try the famous Hungarian baths in the capital city, Budapest.
The band line up this year includes Korn, Magnetic Man and Placebo so far.

INmusic Festival, Croatia: was rated as one of Europe’s best festivals in 2008 and 2009 by The Times. If you attend, you’ll meet 24,999 other partypeople! The festival is short - only two days, but then you can extend your partying at one of the many holiday resorts you’ll find in Croatia. The music is rather mixed regarding genres, and in 2012 The Cranberries are attending - haven’t we all shouted “Zombie” along with them?!!

Wonder why we don’t mention Glastonburry? Well, it’s cancelled this year due to The Olympics in London which induced toilet shortage…..
